Saturday night’s matchup between No. 14 Michigan and No. 12 Notre Dame was the marquee matchup of the day, as the two programs restored a rivalry that hadn’t been played since 2014.
Notre Dame came out ahead in a 24-17 contest, giving the Irish a key victory early in the season. It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but starting a the year with a top 25 win over a rival is hard to top.
Here’s what Brian Kelly had to say after Notre Dame’s win over Michigan:
Brian Kelly: “It’s one of those games. It was gonna be physical. We knew that. Brandon Wimbush played with an edge tonight. He had an energy about him that brought the whole group with him.”

Brian Kelly “they had to listen to all the experts say how great Michigan is” so true Brian, so true.
