Texas entered the 2018 season as the No. 24 team in the country.
The Longhorns traveled to face Maryland, who defeated Tom Herman’s group in 2017 in Texas, and yet, Texas was favored on Saturday. Hello, upset.
Maryland held leads after the first and second quarters, and while Texas owned a 29-24 lead going into the fourth, the Terrapins shut out the Longhorns in the final period, outscoring them 10-0 to go on and win 34-29.
After the game, Texas coach Tom Herman spoke with the media about his team’s 5-point defeat.
