Evan Stewart has not suited up for Oregon this season, but that could change if the Ducks make it past James Madison on Saturday night.
According to a report from Matt Zenitz on Saturday morning, Stewart is making progress from a knee injury he suffered preseason, and it’s looking “increasingly possible” that he could play “at some point this postseason.”
It’s worth noting that Stewart was upgraded to doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Dukes.
Obviously, this would be a massive boon for the Ducks against Texas Tech assuming Oregon takes care of business against a severely outmatched James Madison squad. This is college football we’re talking about, though.
Stewart suffered a knee injury in the Summer that has kept him out of every game so far this year. In 2024, Stewart totaled 48 receptions for 613 yards and 5 touchdowns, his best year in college after 2 solid seasons at Texas A&M.
It’s not hard to see Stewart having success with Dante Moore under center, too. The Ducks quarterback has had an excellent season and he’s turning it up at the right time. Moore totaled just under 850 yards and 5 touchdowns across his final 3 games of the regular season.
