After a dip in November Michigan online casinos stormed back in a big way in December, setting a new monthly revenue record by over $37 million.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Michigan’s online casino operators recorded $315.8 million in December, besting October’s previous record of $278.5 million.

Last month’s performance also bested December 2024 by over $71 million. Last year, MI online casinos recorded $244.0 million in revenue. In 2025, the operators saw a 29.4% jump.

Aiding in the massive revenue spike was the launch of Hard Rock Bet to start the month.

Overall, December’s performance propelled Michigan’s iGaming to $3.09 billion in revenue for 2025, also a new record.

Hard Rock Bet Finishes Fourth In Michigan Debut

The real surprise of December outside of the total revenue is the strong debut for Hard Rock Bet in Michigan.

The new operator debuted on Dec. 2 and ended up recording $35.7 million revenue for its first month. That is the best debut for an online operator in Michigan’s iGaming history.

Hard Rock used an aggressive ad campaign to promote its launch in Michigan, but didn’t overdo the promotional offers. It’s adjusted gross revenue was still $33.6 million, so it only gave up about $2 million in promo offers last month. The $35.7 million landed Hard Rock fourth in the state revenue race for the month, behind only FanDuel Casino, BetMGM, and DraftKings Casino.

The Hannahville Indian Community has to be very pleased. It has had two operators, TwinSpires, and Sports Illustrated, both opt to leave the Michigan online casino scene over the years. Now, it has landed a big fish.

Prior to it’s departure, SI was not even getting $1 million in monthly revenue. For all of 2024, the operator tallied just $12.5 million in revenue.

It will be interesting to see if Hard Rock can build off this start, or if it will take a step back. The current Hard Rock Bet Casino promo code should help it remain a top operator in the state.

Michigan Finishes 2025 With $3.09 Billion in Revenue

Michigan was already set to establish a new online casino revenue record for 2025 entering December, but this just made the gap from 2024 even wider.

The state finished with $3.09 billion in 2025 iGaming revenue, a 26.4% increase from the $2.44 billion it did in 2024.

Along with record revenue, the state receive record tax revenue from its online casinos as well. Altogether, Michigan received $597.5 million in state tax revenue, while city/local taxes were an additional $224.5 million.

When it came to operator performance, FanDuel took home the win in 2025 for the first time. It recorded $817.1 million for the year, besting BetMGM’s $782.5 million. This was the first year that BetMGM didn’t win the revenue race in Michigan. DraftKings was a distant third with $461.8 million.
