Hard Rock Casino Michigan Posts Best Revenue Debut In State History

In December, Michigan online casinos skyrocketed to a new monthly revenue record of $315.8 million.
That record was over $37 million more than October’s previous top mark of $278.5 million.
The majority of that difference can be attributed to the December launch of Hard Rock Bet Casino in Michigan.
Hard Rock opened up its online casino in the Great Lakes State on Dec. 2 and it clearly drew a lot of traffic. For its first month, Hard Rock reported $35.7 million in revenue.
Not only did that place the new operator fourth in December’s revenue leaderboard, but it was the best online casino debut in Michigan iGaming history.
Hard Rock Casino Has Record-Setting MI Debut
The Hard Rock Bet Casino debut in December was definitely eye-popping.
Aside from the $35.7 million in gross revenue, the operator still had $33.6 million in adjusted gross revenue. That subtracts any promotional spending that was offered. Just a $2 million difference shows that Hard Rock didn’t rely on a lot of giveaways and free credits to reach their strong performance.

Hard Rock Nearly Matches Previous Operators
The launch of Hard Rock Casino Michigan was anticipated after SI Casino elected to leave the iGaming industry last summer.
It was the second time Hannahville Indian Community, operators of Island Resort & Casino saw their online casino partner elect to stop operations. The first was TwinSpires, which stopped offering iGaming in late 2022.
However, the third time seems to be the charm for Hannahville.
Since online casinos launched in Michigan in January 2021, the tribal license holder has only seen their iGaming partners record $54.7 million in revenue over nearly five years.

Hard Rock’s December debut already accounts for over 65% of that total.
