Familial bonds tend to pay major dividends when it comes to the recruiting world, and such was the case for Michigan on Sunday.

With first-year coach Kyle Whittingham putting a foundation in place this winter, he’s actively rounding out his 2026 recruiting class.

And after bringing him on a visit over the weekend, the Wolverines received a commitment from linebacker Ndi Etta, the younger brother of current Michigan defensive tackle Enow Etta.

Ndi Etta posted 10.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 68 total tackles and 4 pass breakups as a senior this past year, which earned him an invite to participate in the prestigious Polynesian Bowl.

The 6-foot-2 linebacker will join his brother Enow in Ann Arbor, as the elder sibling has spent 3 seasons with the Wolverines. At 6-foot-5, 320 lbs., Enow has tallied 20 total tackles, 2 pass breakups and 1 sack over his career, with 15 of those tackles occurring this past season.

Enow is expected to take a step up in the defensive-line rotation this season, and it remains to be seen if there will be any instances of the brothers being on the field at the same time this fall.

After experiencing some unexpected coaching turnover, Whittingham & Co. have done well to keep the program’s 2026 class afloat. The group currently consists of 21 players and ranks 12th in the nation according to 247Sports.
