Oregon is in the mix to finally break through and win that first national championship in program history in 2026.

The Ducks have a stacked roster waiting to play for Dan Lanning this fall, but on Monday night they got a commitment from an elite cornerback in the 2027 class. Four-star product Ai’King Hall told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s heading to Eugene to start his college career next year, which is a huge recruiting victory for Oregon not only because it’s getting Hall but because of who isn’t getting him.

And those programs missing out on Hall would be SEC powerhouses like Alabama and Georgia, with Texas also being in the mix for the 6-foot-1, 195-pound product. Making it a recruiting victory bonanza for Oregon is that Hall hails from Dothan, Ala., so the Ducks scooped him right out of not only SEC country but the state of Alabama.

All it took for Hall to sway him to the Pacific Northwest was his first visit to Eugene. Shortly after leaving that visit, Hall made his decision to leave the state of Alabama and head to the Big Ten.

Oregon didn’t even enter Hall’s recruiting picture until earlier in 2026, but the Ducks made up for lost time and now have a commitment from the potential star cornerback for 2027.

In addition to this 4-star status, Hall is currently the 69th-ranked player in the Class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings. He’s also the 9th-ranked cornerback in the class right now and the top-ranked player from the state of Alabama, according to those 247Sports Composite ratings.

As it tries to put together a strong 2027 class, Oregon will also be trying to win that elusive first national championship in 2026. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the Ducks’ chances to do just that, with Oregon currently getting an 8% shot to win it all in January:
