Indiana guard Nick Dorn has announced that he will enter the transfer portal after just one season in Bloomington. The former Elon guard will have 1 season of eligibility remaining.
Dorn is the 5th member of Indiana basketball to announce his entry into the transfer portal this offseason, joining Jason Drake, Jasai Miles, Josh Harris and Aleksa Ristic.
Dorn appeared in 30 games for the Hoosiers this season, averaging 8.1 points per game while hitting 40.4% of his shots from the field. The 6-7 small forward had a strong season behind the arc too, hitting 38% of his 3-point attempts (60-158 on the season).
While Dorn had a few incredible games for the Hoosiers this season, he wasn’t exactly the most consistent scorer on the team. On top of that, Dorn was a negative defender and simply failed to show up on certain nights, scoring 0 points against both Purdue and Wisconsin.
With that said, the potential is certainly there. Dorn scored 18 points in Indiana’s first matchup against Purdue, and followed it up with a 26-point performance in a win over UCLA.
The Hoosiers are losing a lot from last year’s team and will have to do a lot of building through the transfer portal this offseason.
