Oregon’s 2027 class is just outside the top 5 nationally. On Sunday, it received some good news from one of the top linebackers in the class.
Brandon Lockley Jr., from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, has committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks. Lockley revealed his pledge to Oregon to On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday. He becomes Lanning’s second LB commit of the class, joining Salt Lake City’s Sam Ngata.
Lockley, the No. 26 linebacker in the country according to 247Sports, stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 216 pounds. He currently holds 29 offers, with Big Ten schools such as Indiana, Penn State, Nebraska, UCLA, and Wisconsin in the mix.
His pledge to the Ducks doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a done deal, of course. Lockley currently has official visits to Alabama (May 29), Duke (June 5), and Nebraska (June 12) on the schedule, along with a trip to Eugene on June 19. We’ll see if those remain on his calendar or if he ultimately sticks with Oregon.
Here’s a look at Lockley’s junior year highlights, from Hudl:
Oregon’s 2027 recruiting class currently ranks sixth in the country, according to 247Sports. It’s a group that’s currently led by four-star safety Semaj Stanford (Broken Arrow, Okla.), the nation’s No. 3 player at his position.
