Michigan lands commitment from 4-star running back in class of 2027
Michigan is starting fresh this fall with Kyle Whittingham as head coach, as the Wolverines try to turn the page after a chaotic offseason.
But while the 2026 season is the next challenge, Michigan‘s prospects for the 2027 campaign got a major lift on Saturday afternoon with the commitment of 4-star running back Tyson Robinson. The 5-foot-9.5, 199-pounder is expected to pack a big punch in the collegiate level, with Robinson currently the 15th-ranked running back in the class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Wolverines running backs coach Tony Alford was pivotal in luring Robinson north. Robinson had more than 40 offers in total, and he was so certain about Michigan that he made his decision on Saturday before making official visits.
Robinson is currently the 224th-best player in the class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and those ratings also have Robinson as the 8th-best player out of the state of Mississippi. He is Michigan’s fourth commitment in as many days
Michigan now has 11 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, which currently ranks as the 19th-best class in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
