USC football added a commitment from Class of 2027 safety Gavin Williams on Sunday, beating out the likes of Notre Dame, UCLA and Washington for his pledge.

Williams hails from Damien high school in La Verne, California and stands at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. He’s the 10th player out of the Golden State to commit to USC and is considered the 7th ranked prospect in USC’s Class of 2027 thus far according to 247Sports.

USC’s class just keeps getting better, too. The Trojans are currently ranked No. 5 in the Class of 2027, the 2nd ranked class in the Big Ten behind only UCLA.

Williams is a strong prospect, too. He’s considered to be the No. 86 overall prospect in the Class of 2027 according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 6 overall safety and No. 10 player out of the talent-rich state of California.

With Williams’ commitment, USC now has the No. 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, 13 and 17 prospects from the state of California in the Class of 2027.

Williams joins 4-star prospects Aaryn Washington and Danny Lang in the Trojans’ 2027 defensive back room. Honor Fa’alave-Johnson, the Trojans’ top commit in the Class of 2027 so far, can play all over the field, but perhaps has the highest ceiling at safety according to 247Sports’ Scouting Director Andrew Ivins.
