Michigan had a lackluster Week 1 performance to kick off the 2018 season.
The Wolverines entered Saturday night’s game as the No. 14 team in the country and traveled to face No. 12 Notre Dame. It should have been a close game. That’s what the experts thought.
But, in the end, Notre Dame showed its dominance. Michigan didn’t score its first offensive TD until there were just over 2 minutes remaining. Part of the reason for that was that the offense went away from its hurry-up scheme — even when the Wolverines needed points in limited time.
When Harbaugh was asked about clock management during his weekly news conference, he acknowledged the issue.
“Yeah, that’s something we can improve,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll work on that.”
Michigan fans hope that it gets worked on. And likely, so do the Wolverines players.
Harbaugh’s bunch will be back in action Week 2 against Western Michigan. The game is scheduled for a noon start on Saturday at Michigan Stadium and will be televised on FS1.
