Nebraska earned a huge recruiting victory for the 2027 season on Saturday afternoon by getting a commitment from 4-star cornerback Bryce Williams.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder out of Fort Lauderdale had previously committed to Florida State, but Williams decommitted in December and has now decided to leave the Sunshine State for the Big Ten. Rivals’ Greg Smith reported Nebraska’s huge get, with Matt Rhule‘s program beginning to lure Williams to Lincoln toward the end of the 2025 calendar year.
Williams took multiple trips to Nebraska‘s campus, and the Cornhuskers gained steam in his recruitment as Williams’ ties to Florida State faded. SEC powerhouse Oklahoma and Bill Belichick’s North Carolina program in the ACC were also finalists for Williams, so he could’ve ended up in the ACC after all after decommitting from Florida State.
Oklahoma hosted Williams for an official visit last weekend, and Williams had a visit scheduled at North Carolina next weekend. But the 315th-ranked prospect from the Class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, is headed to Nebraska after getting over 50 scholarship offers.
Williams is the 36th-ranked cornerback in the Class of 2027 and the 27th-rated player from the state of Florida, according to those 247Sports Composite rankings.
Nebraska now has 13 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, which is currently rated 24th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Williams is Nebraska’s 3rd commitment in the 2027 class out of the state of Florida, joining wide receiver Kaden Howard and defensive lineman Errol Demontagnac.
Williams can’t help the Cornhuskers until the 2027 season, but Nebraska will be trying to keep up in the Big Ten this fall while staying in the mix for a conference title. Here is what the Kalshi odds are currently saying about the teams with the best shot to win the Big Ten in December:
