Ohio State has aligned with JPMorganChase to place the Chase logo on the Buckeyes’ athletic uniforms – a landmark deal worth a reported $17 million per year.
The agreement, JPMorganChase’s first in college athletics, designates Chase as the official bank sponsor of Ohio State Athletics and the new jersey patch partner across Ohio State’s 36 men’s and women’s varsity programs. The investment’s value was first reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
According to the university, JPMorganChase’s investment also provides new resources to support Ohio State student-athletes through NIL opportunities, enhances the Buckeyes’ overall competitive success, and facilitates academic partnerships across the university.
“JPMorganChase is a global brand with deep roots in Ohio, making them a natural partner that shares our commitment to innovation, excellence and long-term community impact,” Ohio State athletics director Ross Bjork said in a release. “Together, we have built a comprehensive and historic partnership that reflects the strong commercial strength of the Ohio State Athletics identity and the broader college athletics landscape.”
The partnership promises to enhance the fan experience across Ohio State athletics through expanded branding at Ohio Stadium and the Schottenstein Center, JPMorganChase’s role as presenting sponsor of the new 1922 Club and exclusive new cardholder benefits.
“Ohio State leads the way in college athletics, and we’re proud to support the student-athletes and fans who power that tradition,” added Jennifer Roberts, CEO of Chase Consumer Banking, in the release.
