Former Michigan coach Biff Poggi joins B1G Network as analyst

The Big Ten Network announced that former Michigan associate head coach Biff Poggi will be part of the network’s broadcasting efforts in 2026.
Poggi joins a strong lineup of Big Ten analysts that includes figures like Dave Wannstedt and Urban Meyer, among many others.
Per the announcement, Poggi may appear on Big Ten Network programs such as The B1G Show, B1G Today, B1G Countdown to Kickoff, B1G Live: Football Game Break, B1G Live: Football Postgame and The Final Drive.
Former Purdue linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, former Oregon running back Kenjon Barner and former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley are among the other new additions to the Big Ten Network’s stable of analysts. Those 3 ex-players are set to serve as game analysts while Poggi contributes in studio shows.

Poggi, 66, has been coaching football mostly at the collegiate level since 1987. Most recently, he was the associate head coach for Michigan in 2025. He also served as the program’s interim head coach for 2 games amid Sherrone Moore’s suspension. He was promoted to interim head coach again in the offseason after Moore was fired by the program but was not retained by new Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham.
Poggi’s career included 2 other stints at Michigan. He was an analyst for the Wolverines in 2016 and their associate head coach from 2021-22. He also was head coach at Charlotte from 2023-24.
