Rutgers football is Rutgers football.
When most people think of the program, they think of a lower-tiered Big Ten school. That’s just the perception.
The reality is that last season, Rutgers finished with the same overall record as Nebraska (4-8). And the same record in conference (3-6).
The Scarlet Knights also got a 3-star QB from Florida’s IMG Academy to commit for 2018 in Artur Sitkowski. As a true freshman in his first ever game, started for Rutgers Week 1 against Texas State. Sitkowski led the team to a 35-7 victory to open the season.
Rutgers’ top-ranked recruit completed 66% of his passes while throwing for 205 yards. It was Texas State, but Sitkowski got valuable experience. And now with the 6-foot-5 signal caller getting all of this experience as a true freshman, the program now has an identity according to Yahoo’s Pete Thamel.
"For the next three or four years, you know when you think of @RFootball, you're gonna think of @artursitkowski4."

If there is anything for a casual fan to take away about Sitkowski, it’s that he decomitted from Miami (FL) and chose to go to Rutgers.
That says something.
