UCLA fires AD Martin Jarmond after 6 years, per report

UCLA athletics has fired athletic director Martin Jarmond, according to several reports including Bruin Report Online Monday. Jarmond had served as UCLA’s athletic director since 2020.
UCLA will owe Jarmond the $6.5 million remaining on his contract.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Bruins are set to announce former Los Angeles Lakers executive Tim Harris as UCLA’s interim CEO and AD of athletics on a pro bono basis.
As mentioned, Jarmond joined UCLA in 2020 after 4 years as Boston College’s athletic director. He arrived at Boston College by way of Michigan State (2003-2009) and Ohio State (2009-2017), where he served as assistant AD for the Spartans and Buckeyes.
Jarmond fired former football head coach DeShaun Foster following a 3-game losing streak to start the 2025 season. He brough in new head coach Bob Chesney, who is set to make his UCLA debut in less than a week as the Bruins and QB Nico Iamaleava face off against the Cal Golden Bears in Berkeley.
