Veteran Indiana defenders granted TRO, immediately eligible to return for 5th season

Defending national champion Indiana begins the season with a home contest vs. North Texas and there’ll be a pair of veteran defensive linemen now eligible to play.
Many athletes, along with Indiana‘s Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt, have been permitted a temporary restraining order from the circuit court in Indiana. That means Daley and Wyatt are allowed to participate in the Hoosiers’ contest vs. the Mean Green.
The 6-foot-1 Daley, a senior, joined Indiana last season after spending his first 3 collegiate years with Kent State. Daley rose to the occasion for the Hoosiers with 35 total tackles, 5.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. For his career, Daley has amassed 138 total tackles, 11.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and an interception.
Wyatt also arrived at Indiana last season as a transfer, having previously spent 3 years at Maryland. Wyatt recorded 28 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2025. Overall, Wyatt has tallied 108 total tackles, 11 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in his career.
The order was issued by Judge Kara Krothe of the Monroe Circuit Court in Bloomington, Indiana and there’ll be a hearing on Sept. 11 to further consider the motion, according to ESPN.
Indiana’s title defense begins against a North Texas squad which went 12-2 last season. The all-time series is tied at 1, with Indiana taking the most recent matchup 49-24 on Oct. 4, 2014. North Texas at Indiana is set for Sept. 5 at 12 p.m. ET (FOX).
