Kyle Wittingham and Michigan fell to 4-3 on the season after losing 13-6 to Indiana in overtime in Week 8. As been the case all year, the Wolverines defense played well enough to win the game, but the offense just couldn’t get it done when the rubber met the road.

Wittingham has already decided to bench quarterback Bryce Underwood, and now fans are calling for him to make a move at offensive coordinator. However, the first-year coach said now isn’t the time to make that type of move.

“Right now, it’s not the time to panic,” Wittingham told WolverineOn3. “We’re a play away from 6-1 or 7-0.”

The Wolverines’ three losses are by a combined 14 points, including a stunning loss at the buzzer against Iowa earlier in the season. In those three games, the Wolverines are averaging 13 points. Despite that, Wittingham has no intention right now of firing Jason Beck, who came over from Utah with him in the off-season.

Michigan will look to see some improvement from its offense on Halloween, as the Wolverines hit the road to take on a Rutgers team that has given up at least 30 points in every B1G game this season. If the Wolverines’ offense is unable to keep that streak going on Saturday, the questions to Wittingham are only going to continue.
