Hopefully Edwin Carter will be alright after this crazy play.
The freshman WR for Illinois has hauled in two touchdowns against Western Illinois, and his second score of the night proved to be incredible. QB M.J. Rivers put the ball up high, and Carter was able to elevate and come down the catch.
Unfortunately, Carter sustained an injury while coming down with the catch. He was flipped head over heels in the end zone and landed on his right knee. Carter’s right knee appeared to jerk in an odd angle. He needed to be helped off the field following the play, but no update has been given on his status.
The Big Ten Network shared the video of Carter’s impressive play:
Unbelievable job of hanging onto this @IlliniFootball TD by freshman Edwin Carter.
