WATCH: FOX Sports analyst Robert Smith on why Week 3 will be tough for Buckeyes

Ohio State has cruised in its first two games without head coach Urban Meyer, who is serving a three game suspension for his handling of domestic abuse allegations against former wide receiver coach Zach Smith.

So far, the Buckeyes have beaten Oregon State and Rutgers at home, with an average margin of victory of 47.5 points.

However, the Buckeyes will have their first real test of the 2018 season in Week 3 without Urban Meyer, according to former Ohio State running back and current Fox Sports analyst Robert Smith.

In his “State of the Buckeyes” segment, Smith explained why the game against TCU in Arlington, Texas will provide a challenge for Ohio State.

“TCU is going to be a much tougher battle next week, especially since it’s going to be on the road,” said Smith, “now it’s not going to be a home game for TCU, it is going to be at Arlington Stadium at Jerry World, but clearly that’s just about 15 to 20 miles from TCU’s campus, so it’s going to be a TCU home game in essence.

“Of course this was the first week having Urban Meyer back with the team,” continued Smith, “he will not be coaching during the TCU game next week but, he will be with the team throughout the week.

“Really not the toughest competition in the first two weeks but you didn’t see a lot of terrible things from Ohio State either. We’re going to find out a lot more about TCU, we’re going to find out a lot more about Ohio State a week from now.”

This will be Ohio State’s final game with offensive coordinator Ryan Day serving as the interim head coach, but like Smith mentioned, Urban Meyer will be with the team all week at practice.
