Maryland, led by interim coach Dave Aranda, beat Bowling Green 45-14 on the road on Saturday to go to 2-0 on the season.

The Falcons’ defense simply could not stop Maryland’s rushing attack, and the Terrapins racked up 445 rush yards, something they have not done in a single game since the 1999 season.

Senior running back Ty Johnson led the way for Maryland, with 124 yards and 1 touchdown on 12 carries. Sophomore Tayon Fleet-Davis eclipsed the century mark as well, gathering 102 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries. But the rushing attack was incredibly spread out, as Lorenzo Harrison III also had 86 yards and a touchdown, Anthony McFarland added 69 yards, and Javon Leake had 42 yards and a touchdown on only 3 carries.

The Terrapins only had 121 yards in the air, but the rushing attack was all they needed. Up next for Maryland is 0-2 Temple at home.
