Everybody knows that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is suspended from coaching the first three games.
The Buckeyes have been just fine without him, dismantling Oregon State and Rutgers with ease. But, where is Meyer spending his Saturdays?
In Week 1, the Buckeyes coach was at home with his family.
For Week 2, against Rutgers, where was Meyer?
He spent his time at a hospital.
Meyer and his wife, Shelley, were visiting Matthew Offers — an 8-year-old boy who suffers from congenital heart disease — and his family. Offers has spent much of his life in a hospital.
Here’s the description with the photo on Facebook:
Matthew had a very special visitor today. It has been hard keeping this to myself. Urban Meyer and his wife came to the hospital specifically to see Matthew after hearing his story and remembers facetiming with him during Christmas the past 2 years. They are the most humble down to earth people you could meet.
According to the post, Meyer has facetimed with him during Christmas the past two years.
Matthew’s parents were also given tickets to the Meyer’s stadium suite for the game against Rutgers on this past weekend. Sept. 14 will be Matthew’s ninth birthday.
Ohio State’s final game without Meyer on the sidelines is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be televised on ABC.
