Former Hoosiers WR to be inducted into IU Athletics Hall of Fame

A former Indiana wide receiver will be one of six former Hoosier athletes to be inducted to the IU Athletics Hall of Fame later this fall.
On Wednesday morning, Indiana University announced that Glenn Scolnik, who was a receiver at Indiana from 1970-1972, will be one of the half-dozen former standout Hoosier athletes who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The six individuals will be inducted on Friday, Nov. 9 and will be honored when IU hosts Maryland at Memorial Stadium the following day.
“IU Athletics has a rich history in all of its sports, which is evidenced in this year’s class that represents six different programs,” (Athletic Director Fred) Glass said. “These six individuals contributed an enormous amount to the success of their teams and the notoriety of our entire Athletics Department. Congratulations to each as they join a very distinctive and elite group of Hoosier legends.”
Scolnik was named a team MVP and was a first-team All-B1G selection in his senior season in 1972. That year, he caught 53 passes for 727 yards and six touchdowns. He was an Academic All-American in that season.
At the end of his career at Indiana, Scolnik was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and went on to play one season in the NFL.
