One of the most dominant defensive linemen in college football won’t be on the field this weekend.

Monday, Urban Meyer met with the media for the first time since B1G Media Days at Ohio State’s weekly press conference. While there weren’t many questions about football-related items during that hour-long session with reporters, someone did ask about the injury to defensive end Nick Bosa.

According to Meyer, Bosa will undergo further testing this week to look at an abdominal and groin strain he sustained against TCU on Saturday night. The injury came in the third quarter.

“He’s getting further tests this week,” Meyer said. “He will not play this week. Further tests on an abdominal and groin issue we’re dealing with.”

Bosa currently leads the B1G in sacks, totaling four through the first four games. He recorded a strip-sack against TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson on Saturday, a play that resulted in an Ohio State touchdowns.

On the year, Bosa has 14 tackles and six for loss.

The Buckeyes will play Tulane next Saturday to round out the non-conference schedule. After that, it’s a colossal showdown in the B1G East between Ohio State and Penn State in Happy Valley.

Ohio State is really hoping to have Bosa back for that one.
