It isn’t unanimous, but it may as well be.

A whopping 58 percent of the 128 coaches that were part of ESPN’s poll picked the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes to repeat.

Why is that whopping? Well, TCU finished in second with 15 percent of the vote. The Horned Frogs were followed by Alabama (10 percent), Clemson (5 percent), Baylor (4 percent), Auburn (3 percent) and LSU (2 percent).

According to the poll, the Buckeyes were even more popular among Power Five programs with 71 percent of the national championship vote.

The Buckeyes made history as the first team to ever receive a unanimous preseason No. 1 in the Associated Press preseason poll. They’ll look to avenge last year’s loss against Virginia Tech on Monday night in Blacksburg, VA.
