Indiana will be shorthanded against Southern Illinois.

The school announced before Saturday’s opener that it will be without nine players, including two starters.

Linebacker Tegray Scales and defensive lineman Darius Latham will both be sidelined because of a suspension.

Indiana coach Kevin Wilson did not announce what the punishment was for, just that they “did not live up to their responsibilities to the program.”

The Hoosiers already kicked off top returning defensive back Antonio Allen after he was arrested for drug trafficking. No word was released on if the suspended players will face any further punishment.
