There’s a huge difference between being an obnoxious and rowdy college football fan and cruel, inappropriate and threatening. Several Oregon fans crossed that line on Saturday night.
A marquee matchup between two Pac-12 powers, Stanford and Oregon, took place in Eugene on Saturday for a huge advantage in the conference race and College Football Playoff picture. It was a highly-fought matchup from start to finish.
Oregon owned a three-point lead late in the game and appeared to have a victory sealed up. But a late fumble recovered by Stanford allowed the Cardinal to march down the field and kick a tying field goal with as time expired in regulation.
Stanford went on to win 38-31.
But Saturday’s hard-fought contest was overshadowed by the action of several Oregon fans, who thought it was necessary to throw bottles and trash at Stanford players leaving the field. There were also plenty of vulgar phrases and gestures being thrown around as the Cardinal entered the locker room.
Below is the video of Stanford players being bombarded with bottles, garbage and everything else you can think of. It really makes you wonder if Oregon has the worst fans in college football.
