College football running back reportedly dies in shooting

A college football running back has died after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest on Saturday, according to a report.

The Denver Post is reporting that Brett Ojiyi, a student-athlete at Colorado Mesa University, was killed from gunfire just after midnight on Saturday. He was a running back on the school’s football team.

Grand Junction police wee called to a home in the 100 block of Main Street for a report of the shooting, according to the Denver Post. Officers located a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He died on the scene.

Ojiyi was a student at Colorado Mesa University and was a four-year member of the school’s football team.
