Big Ten Network has released a statement saying that its lead college football in-game analyst, Matt Millen, will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
Millen, who has been battling the rare condition of amyloidosis, is taking time away from broadcasting to focus on his health. He was in the booth through the first five weeks of the season.
“Matt Millen, BTN’s lead football game analyst, will not return to the booth in 2018 as he continues to pursue treatment for amyloidosis,” BTN said in a statement. “Millen has battled the rare condition since 2011 and will take time away from football to focus on his health.”
Since 2015, Millen has served as the lead college football analyst for the top B1G games on BTN. In the first five games of the season, Millen worked along side play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler.
Millen played football at Penn State and was a second round pick in the 1980 NFL Draft.
“We will certainly miss seeing Matt this fall, but his health is the clear priority for everyone involved and we plan to support him in any way possible,” said Mark Hulsey, senior vice present of production and executive producer BTN.
