Is it considered a “blackout game” if no one shows up?

Roughly nine* fans arrived for the Rutgers-Illinois game at HighPoint Solutions Stadium on Saturday afternoon in what is one of the saddest sights you’ll ever see:

It’s been a tough year for the Scarlet Knights, who enter today’s Week 6 matchup with a 1-4 record (0-2 Big Ten) having lost their last four games by an average of 31.5 points. That’s not necessarily a recipe to attract people to come support your product, but still — this is pretty bad.

Hopefully there will be a few stragglers to fill in some of those empty seats.
