Jim Harbaugh, Mark Dantonio impress Kirk Herbstreit heading into rivalry showdown
Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio will face each other this weekend, but both coaches impressed Kirk Hebstreit in Week 7.
In a new idea that Herbstreit started after a fan recommendation, he named his top five coaching performances from the weekend. Both Harbaugh and Dantonio made the cut as Michigan and Michigan State each secured a crucial win Saturday.
For the Wolverines, they dominated Wisconsin and jumped all the way to No. 6 on the AP Poll. It was a clutch performance that kept Michigan’s CFB Playoff hopes alive under Harbaugh.
For the Spartans, they battled through a number of injuries against Penn State. They fought all the way until the end and scored a game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds left to stun the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley.
As a result, Herbstreit selected Harbaugh and Dantonio as the third and tied for fifth best coaching performances of the weekend:
