Move over Ohio State, FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt no longer believes you’re going to win the B1G.
On Wednesday, the college football analyst joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd to preview Saturday’s Michigan-Michigan State game and talk B1G football. And Klatt is extremely high on the Wolverines.
The Maize and Blue are now Klatt’s pick to win the conference.
“I just saw Ohio State last week against Minnesota and I’ve seen Michigan, even in a game in which they didn’t play well, they were down 17-0 to Northwestern before they cam back and won. From what I’ve both seen on tape evaluating both teams and what I saw live, my new favorite to win the conference is Michigan,” Klatt said. “Ohio State had so many holes. I mean, bad ones. Ohio State has given up 22 plays of 30 yards or more, that’s sixth worst in college football. Their offensive line was atrocious last week and Michigan just had a top two, three team performance of any team in college football last week.”
Michigan cruised to a 38-13 win over Wisconsin last week, and made it look easy. Ohio State struggled in a 30-14 win over Minnesota.
The Wolverines have looked really good since that season-opening loss to Notre Dame. And even then, Klatt believes Michigan was the better team in that game.
“Michigan, you could argue, was the better team for three quarters,” Klatt said. “It was the two big plays early in the first quarter.
“Michigan is a really good team. They had two holes that they need to fix from last year: offensive line and quarterback. They’re getting great play from both.”
Klatt has been high on Michigan since Jim Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor in 2015. But he’s all-in on the Wolverines for the rest of the year.
