Gareon Conley lives a long way from Ohio now, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still love his home state. And during the Raiders’ bye week, the cornerback used his spare time to help those in need.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Conley used his off week to donate and deliver 100 winter coats, 100 hats and 100 pairs of gloves to Refuge of Hope in Canton, Ohio. The organization helps provide hot meals and shelter for homeless men.

Schefter also said that Burlington Coat Factory pitched in by donating coats, hats and gloves.

Conley is a native of Massillon, Ohio, which is located just 13 miles from Canton. He also played his college football at Ohio State.

The former Buckeye was in Columbus from 2014-2016, playing in 35 career games in three seasons. Conley recorded 91 tackles, six interceptions and 15 passes defended in his collegiate career. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Raiders, going No. 24 overall.

Conley has played in eight career games with the Raiders, registering 17 tackles and interception and seven passes defended.

The efforts of the former Ohio State star certainly didn’t go unnoticed. It was a tremendous contribution to a community he used to call home.
