Michigan is going to have to play a gritty, tough game in order to knock-off in-state rival Michigan State this Saturday in East Lansing, but unfortunately they Wolverines will be down one of their best players.
Dan Murphy of ESPN is reporting that star defensive tackle Rashan Gary will not be able to play as the No. 6 Wolverines (6-1, 4-0 B1G) take on the No. 24 Spartans (4-2, 2-1 B1G). In good news for Michigan State, running back L.J. Scott will be available after missing the past few games. Well, at least it appears that game, as Murphy is reporting that Scott is suited up and going through warm-ups for MSU.

The loss of Gary for this game is huge (in a bad way) for Michigan, especially considering his production this season. The elite defensive lineman, who checks in at 6-foot-5, 283 pounds and boasts the pedigree of a former No. 1 overall recruit, has snagged 18 tackles (10 solo) and two sacks so far this season — playing an integral role in Michigan’s defense.
