Nico Collins is coming up big for Michigan early.
Saturday’s game between Michigan and Michigan State endured a 1 hour 15 minute weather delay in the first quarter. After that lengthy break, the Wolverines’ offense trotted back onto the field at Spartan Stadium, trying to put some points on the board early.
Thanks to Collins, they did exactly that.
On a 3rd-and-8, A pass from Shea Patterson was deflected high into the air, but Collins was able to make a nice adjustment and dove underneath the ball, making the catch and keeping the drive alive.

It was the second touchdown catch of the year for Collins. And probably the most important to this point in the season.
Collins ranked as the team’s second-leading pass-catcher entering Saturday’s game. He had 296 yards on 18 receptions through seven games for the Wolverines.
He’s already made some impressive plays in East Lansing.
