Scott Frost: First win at Nebraska ‘long overdue’

It may have been a long time coming, but Nebraska is finally off its slide!
The Cornhuskers once again made things very interesting in a win over Minnesota. Nebraska raced out to a 28-0 first-half lead behind big plays from Devine Ozigbo and two touchdowns from QB Adrian Martinez. However, things got very interesting in the second half.
The Golden Gophers battled back and pulled within 28-22 with 14 points in the third quarter. Thankfully, that was as close as the game would get as Nebraska pulled away for a 53-28 win, the first under head coach Scott Frost.
Needless to say, ending the 0-6 start has to bring a little sense of relief moving forward. Frost now has his first win and first B1G win with the Cornhuskers. Here’s what he had to say after the victory:
Scott Frost: “It’s long overdue. It feels great.” #Huskers

Frost: “I’m so proud of this team… they could’ve quit or shut it down a long time ago.”

What was on Frost’s mind at 28-22?
“I’ve seen this movie before.”
But this week, they talked about the mental side of closing out a win, and Frost said they handled it better this week.

Frost on Martinez: “Those are senior numbers. Those aren’t 18-year-old numbers.”

"I took it like a man. I saw it coming," Frost said of Gatorade bath. #Huskers

Frost smiled and said he got an "inappropriate Gatorade shower." He said he's glad the guys are excited "but there's going to be a day around here when we're celebrating more than one win."
