Purdue is hosting No. 2 Ohio State Saturday night on ABC.

You’ll want to tune in if you haven’t already. The Boilermakers are of course underdogs to the Buckeyes, but perhaps, they shouldn’t be.

At halftime, Purdue leads 14-3. The Boilermakers haven’t trailed in the game yet, and when up 7-3 and faced with a 4th-and-3 situation on Ohio State’s 13-yard-line, a fairly easy field goal seemed to be the logical choice.

After all, Purdue was leading to begin with and had a chance to go up 10-3 going into halftime. It made sense.

But sometimes, it’s doing the unthinkable and taking some risks that leads to a big payout. Purdue coach Jeff Brohm decided to take a risk here, and boy, did it pay off:

With 3 yards to gain, the holder had to outrun Ohio State’s defense and he did just that, getting Purdue a new set of downs. This led to a Boilermakers TD, bringing the score to 14-3.

Here’s both the fake and the TD:

Again, tune in to the game if you haven’t already. We could be in the middle of an enormous upset.
