Ohio State-Purdue draws huge audience on ABC

Several televisions were tuned into ABC on Saturday night to catch Purdue’s 49-20 upset win over No. 2 Ohio State in West Lafayette.

The game between the Boilermakers and Buckeyes aired in the prime time slot on ABC, with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call. It was the highest rated game of the day for Week 8.

It was the third-highest rated college football game of the season on ESPN/ABC, according to ESPN PR. The game drew a 4.2 overnight rating.

Viewership peaked in the fourth quarter, as it drew a 5.2 rating from 11:00-11:15 p.m. ET. It was then that Purdue scored several touchdowns to ice the victory.

The Boilermakers improved to 4-3 on the season and 3-1 in the B1G. Ohio State dropped to 7-1 and 4-1 in conference.
