Nick Bosa made the difficult decision to end his career at Ohio State and focus on his future in the NFL. That choice is going to net the star defensive lineman a pretty hefty salary in the matter of a few months.

It could also result in a No. 1 selection in the 2019 NFL draft.

According to ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr., Bosa is the top prospect available in the upcoming draft. While that’s not exactly breaking news, Kiper provided a little bit better breakdown as to why the former Ohio State star is such a hot commodity.

“Think about it this way: Now Bosa’s next injury will come after he’s a multimillionaire, not before,” Kiper wrote in his latest report. “I don’t expect the injury or decision to affect his draft stock. He is an elite pass-rusher who is advanced for his age in his technique — you can probably thank his brother, Joey, and dad, John, both former first-round picks. He’ll finish his Buckeyes career with 17.5 sacks in two-plus seasons, most of which was in a loaded line rotation.”

Bosa suffered a core muscle injury in the Buckeyes’ September matchup against TCU. The injury required surgery and Bosa hasn’t suited up for Ohio State since.

The decision to end his career in Columbus has been one of the most debated topics in college football over the last several days.

With such high praise coming from so many directions, it’s hard to argue Bosa made the right decision.
