Wisconsin is 5-2 overall this season.

By Badgers standards, that’s a disappointment. Wisconsin was not supposed to lose to BYU in the early portion of the year and the 25-point loss to Michigan certainly didn’t help.

Now in Week 9, the Badgers face an intriguing matchup at Northwestern. Kickoff is set for noon and the game will be televised on FOX.

Wisconsin had an injury report released Thursday morning and 6 players were listed as either questionable or out. All 6 of them were defensive players. That’s unfortunate.

What may be even more unfortunate, however, is that QB Alex Hornibrook is in concussion protocol according to Jeff Potrykus at jsonline.com.

“(…) starter Alex Hornibrook is going through the concussion protocol and his status for the key Big Ten game is uncertain,” Potrykus wrote. “A source confirmed Hornibrook’s status, which was first reported by the Wisconsin Radio Network.”

Hornibrook has attempted all but 1 pass for the Badgers this season. If the junior were to miss the game vs. Northwestern, it’s expected that Jack Coan, a sophomore, would start. In 2017, Coan went 5-for-5 for 36 yards.
