Lee Corso on teams outside Power 5 conference making College Football Playoff: ‘Absolutely no chance’

Did you like the BCS system where computers picked the top two teams to play against each other at the end of the year to determine a national champion?
Probably not.
How about now, when a committee picks four teams to make a playoff and then those teams ultimately decide who is the best? It’s good, sure. But some think it should be expanded.
Four just isn’t enough. Five power conferences alone proves that. Even some years you have teams from outside Power 5 conference have undefeated seasons.
Don’t they get a chance? We’ve heard it before and we’ll continue to hear it until there is a change.
Well on Saturday, ESPN’s Lee Corso had a written message about non-Power 5 schools making the College Football Playoff:

Corso says they essentially have no shot. And, he seems to be right. No team has made it to the playoff yet and no team has ultimately been all that close.
UCF a year ago had a strong case, but as Corso says, it comes down to strength of schedule. Teams outside the Power 5 just can’t get the schedule a team inside one of those conferences can.
And no, this isn’t including Notre Dame, who essentially plays an ACC schedule with other games it can choose basically at will.
