On Saturday morning, a shooting took place inside a Pittsburgh synagogue.

A man was armed with an assault rifle and at least 3 handguns and was shouting anti-Semetic slurs before opening fire. At least 11 people were killed, while six others were wounded.

When horrific acts like these take place, it makes us stop and think when it comes to sports. We all use sports as a form of entertainment, and many times, things more important are going on around us.

On Sunday, former Ohio State DL Cameron Heyward — who is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers — played against the Cleveland Browns. Heyward and the Steelers came away with a 33-18 victory.

After the win, Heyward got emotional talking about what had happened just one day earlier:

Heyward may have said it best when he said, “It didn’t come down to religion or what you look like. It’s just about caring about people.”

Heyward played for the Buckeyes from 2007-10.
