We’re just one day away from the College Football Playoff selection committee unveiling the first rankings of the 2018 season. But before we see the official top 25. everybody is providing their predictions.
SEC Network host Paul Finebaum weighed in with his top six this week, painting his playoff picture before entering the month of November. To nobody’s surprise, the most famous SEC voice had three teams from the conference in his top six.
Finebaum made the selections on SportsCenter on Sunday morning. Here’s what his playoff picture looks like:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. LSU
4. Notre Dame
5. Michigan
6. Georgia
To his credit, Finebaum typically bashes Michigan on a weekly basis, but is showing Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines some love in his most recent rankings.
Alabama and LSU — which Finebaum has ranked No. 1 and No. 3 respectively — will go head-to-head on Saturday. A Crimson Tide victory likely knocks the Tigers out of the top six, as it would be their second loss of the season.
Michigan will have another top 25 matchup this weekend, hosting Penn State.
We’ll find out on Tuesday how accurate Finebaum’s prediction is.
