Like father like son.

On Wednesday morning, Nebraska added a 3-star defensive back to its 2019 recruiting class. But this commitment was a little extra special for the Huskers, as it’s the son of former Blackshirt Toby Wright.

Javin Wright, a 3-star defensive back out of Arizona, gave his verbal pledge on Halloween day, becoming the 20th member of the Huskers’ 2019 class. He made the announcement via Twitter.

Wright is ranked as the 14th-best prospect out of Arizona and is one of the top 100 players at his position in the 2019 class. He had nine offers, most of which were on the West Coast.

Wright’s father, Toby, was a star for the Huskers in 1993, registering 73 tackles and three interceptions on a team that fell just shy of a national championship.

He went on to have a six-year career in the NFL.

Nebraska now has 20 members in its 2019 recruiting class, which ranks 22nd nationally and fourth in the B1G, according to 247Sports.
