They say honesty is the best policy, but it’s not always the best idea to speak what’s on your mind.
One reporter didn’t follow that procedure. Instead, that individual sent an unflattering an inappropriate text to a high school recruit who recently suffered an injury.
Damon Evans, a 6-f0ot, 190-pound wide receiver out of Beaumont, Texas, suffered an injury that could keep him sidelined for quite some time. Recently, he received a message from a reporter asking to interview the 3-star prospect who has committed to North Texas.
Evans revealed that message while blacking out the reporters name.
“Sorry to hear about your injury Damon, most people don’t come back the same so I doubt you will, not to be rude,” the text says. “Do you have any time for a quick interview about what your future life holds? I’m a reporter out of the Denton area.”
