Nick Saban isn’t always the most pleasant college football coach to deal with, but he usually provides some pretty great quotes. There may not be one better than the one he delivered at his radio show this week.
Saturday night, No. 1 Alabama takes on No. 3 LSU in a battle for the lead in the SEC West and positioning in the College Football Playoff rank. It’s the game of the year in college football and one of the most anticipated showdowns in the rivalry in some time.
During his weekly call-in show, Saban was asked a simple question about Saturday’s game: if the Tide win the coin toss, will they elect to kick or receive? Saban delivered a tremendous response.
“Well, to be honest with ya,” Saban said, followed by a long pause, “I hope we elect to kick ass is what I hope we do.”
Hey @JackMacCFB I see your LSU hype video and raise you this. Tell me why I shouldn’t lay the mortgage on the -14? pic.twitter.com/wQCgqt16TY

That’ll get Alabama fans fired up for the weekend. That quote will also be aired on just about every pre-game show known to man on Saturday leading up to the clash of titans.
Alabama enters Saturday’s game as a two-touchdown favorite. The Crimson Tide is 8-0 on the season and have been the hands down favorite to claim the national title. LSU is 7-1 with the lone loss to Florida.
It’s a winner-take-all battle in Baton Rouge. Saban has already set the tone.
