WATCH: Andrew Van Ginkel records clutch field goal block against Rutgers

The Badgers found themselves in a hard-fought battle in the first half against Rutgers, and this key play kept the Scarlet Knights off the board.
In what turned out to be a defensive struggle through one half of action, Wisconsin found a way to ground out a 10-point lead. The Badgers will need to be better in the second half to pull away, but carrying a lead into halftime is still a win.
This block by Andrew Van Ginkel also turned out to be crucial ahead of halftime. Rutgers lined up for a field goal that would have cut the lead to 10-3 in the second quarter. However, Van Ginkel was having none of it.
Van Ginkel sliced through the line and laid out to deny the field goal attempt. The Big Ten Network shared the video of his big-time rejection:
