For anyone wondering if Michigan was intentionally running up the score against Penn State, Shea Patterson left no doubt afterwards.

When discussing the performance of the Wolverines after the game, Patterson admitted that Michigan kept last season’s score in mind. Last year, the Nittany Lions won by a score of 42-13 with many Michigan players upset that Penn State piled on late.

Though Patterson admitted he was not a part of the team last season, he said he was aware of Penn State running up the score. If given the opportunity, Patterson said the Wolverines were going to return the favor.

Nick Baumgardner with the Detroit Free Press shared Patterson’s comments:

That may explain why Patterson and Karan Higdon were still in the game in the fourth quarter with a lead of 28-0.  They did not come out of the game until after making it 35-0 with 9:49 left to go in the game.
