Each week of the college football season, four ESPN college football reporters make their CFB Playoff predictions. And after Week 10, the selections are unanimous.
According to the reporters, the Big Ten won’t be shut out of the playoff in 2018 — because Michigan will beat Ohio State, win the conference and earn the No. 4 seed for a heavyweight dual with No. 1 Alabama. Here’s the consensus lineup with a short explanation, courtesy of Andrea Adelson, Edward Aschoff, Chris Low, and Adam Rittenberg:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Notre Dame
4. Michigan
“Alabama and Clemson keep dominating and make it an easy choice at 1-2. Notre Dame remains undefeated and the unanimous pick at No. 3, while Michigan is the beneficiary of LSU’s loss. And while the Irish own a head-to-head win over the Wolverines, what happens if Notre Dame loses once and Michigan runs the table and wins the Big Ten?”
The second version of the CFB Playoff committee’s top 25 rankings will be released on Tuesday evening, and it’s likely that at the very least, the top 4 will mirror this list.
